Marquette University 13th Annual Rec Plex Golf Scramble

Our tournament has grown tremendously over the past years becoming extremely successful. Golfer participation has flourished from 179 in 2001 to 272 in 2008!

This year's event will again be held at the Silver Spring Country Club in Menomonee Falls, WI. on Thursday, June 5, 2008. We will have a double shotgun start at 9:30am utilizing both Island and Falls courses.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

  • Players must check in at least 30 minutes prior to tee-time.
  • Four Person Scramble
  • Individuals can form teams with requested groups or be randomly assigned.
  • There will be three divisions: Men's, Women's, and Mixed.
  • The Tournament will be conducted as a four-person scramble. The team will use the best shot among all four players.

This year's golf scramble tournament will once again help support The Robert H. Koster Scholarship Fund. This fund was created in 2003 to honor the loyalty and commitment of our long time Marquette employee, Bob Koster. We were all saddened when Bob passed away in December 2006, and the scholarship fund is continued as a memorial to recognize his forty years of dedicated service to Marquette University. Proceeds from the investments of the endowed scholarship fund provide annual financial aid award to a deserving Marquette student. Scholarships are vital in attracting the most talented students for whom the top schools in the country vie, and for attracting students who need help bridging an otherwise impassable financial gap. Marquette is dedicated to offering scholarships based on academic excellence and financial need, thereby enrolling a student body that is both gifted and diverse. It only seems appropriate given Bob Koster's energetic support of the Rec Plex golf outing, to replace the National Youth Sport Program with The Robert H. Koster Scholarship Fund as this year's beneficiary.

Registration begins at 10am on April 9th, 2008.
