The Helfaer Tennis Stadium and Recreation Center provides theMarquette community with one of the finest facilities in the Midwest. It was designed and is operated to give its users greater variety and choice in their recreational pursuits. Included in this building are:

Rec Plex - 915 W. Wisconsin (Straz Tower)
In addition to the Helfaer Recreation Center, the Rec Plex is a state of the art fitness facility. This facility offers memberships to both the Marquette community and the Milwaukee community. The Rec Plex is geared more towards a health club atmosphere and includes:

Both facilities offer weight rooms with Cardio Theater and a variety of cardio machines including steppers, recumbent bikes, treadmills, stationary bikes, rowers and ellipticals. In addition, the Helfaer Recreation Center Pro Shop offers basic athletic equipment and accessories for sale. Reservations for tennis and squash are made in the Helfaer Recreation Center ProShop 48 hours in advance by calling 288-7135. Proper shoes are required, no dark sole running shoes, sandals or street shoes allowed. Shoes must have a flat herringbone bottom. Rec Plex court reservations can be made by calling 288-7778.

Valley Fields - 1818 W. Canal Street
Located on Canal Street, between 16th and 21st Streets, Valley Fields is a 13-acre athletic and recreational sports complex in the Menomonee Valley along the Milwaukee River, just 800 yards from the southwest end of campus.

The $8 million facility includes a natural grass soccer field, which is home to Golden Eagles soccer. The Valley Fields also house an artificial turf field for intramurals, club sports, and recreation. An eight-lane, 400-meter running track surrounds another artificial turf field, along with areas for field events such as long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and javelin.
